Twin Temple lose Charley Crockett tour support over "Satanic imagery"
Twin Temple said Crockett dropped them from upcoming shows over their Satanic imagery, while Sierra Hull remains set to join the tour.
Country musician Charley Crockett removed the duo Twin Temple from two upcoming tour dates on July 14 in Troutdale, Oregon and July 18 in Paso Robles, California, citing opposition to their "Satanic imagery."
Twin Temple, a Los Angeles duo composed of husband-and-wife Alexandra James and Zachary James, are known for their "Satanic" doo-wop rock style and aesthetic featuring pentagrams and upside-down crosses.
On Wednesday, the duo responded via social media, expressing disappointment while stating they were "grateful for your support, not only of Twin Temple, but more importantly, of artistic freedom."
Fans criticized the decision online, with one person writing it is "a huge disappointment to turn around and remove an artist based on their identity a week before the show."
Twin Temple will instead open for Danzig's September tour, including shows in Texas and Tennessee, while Crockett's tour dates remain listed on his website.
