While broadcast on Taiwanese television, the series "Zero Day Attack" features a nightmare scenario that many fear on the island: that of an invasion by China. Its realism arouses very strong reactions in the Taiwanese population and media.
An unprecedented vote to remove dozens of allegedly pro-China lawmakers in Taiwan has exposed the extent of the polarization of the political scene and society as a whole. The government and the opposition nationalists are mainly divided over the issue of relations with Beijing, with both camps calling each other traitors to democracy. The dispute has been exacerbated by a new TV series about a fictional Chinese invasion.
