A cooperation agreement in the field of nuclear energy has been signed between Turkey and the United States. Turkey and the United States have signed an agreement to examine the feasibility of implementing small modular reactors and 4th generation nuclear reactor technologies in Türkiye. The study, with a budget of approximately $2 million, will evaluate small modular reactor designs from four US companies and five different 4th generation reactor designs from US companies in terms of technical, economic, regulatory, and licensing aspects.
