In the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), voting for the first round of the presidential election began at 08:00 this morning.
Voting has begun at ballot boxes for the first round of the presidential election in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Approximately 218,000 voters will decide not only the new president but also the future of the Turkish presence on the island. The election will be between Ersin Tatar, who advocates a two-state solution, and Tufan Erhürman, who favors a federation with the Greek Cypriots.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said, "I hope that the presidential elections to be held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will be beneficial for the Turkish Cypriot people and the entire island." Click for more
