President Erdogan made the remarks at the gala dinner of the Zero Waste Forum held at Istanbul Ataturk Airport. President Erdogan drew attention to the waste, saying that “43 million children are in the grip of hunger. 1 billion 300 thousand tons of food are wasted in one year”. Stating that the Zero Waste project contributes 365 billion TL a year, Erdoğan stressed that 613,000 trees were cut down with the project.
