Tseshaht sing, dance, fish for Indigenous Peoples Day at Papermill Dam

Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations were conducted under scorching temperatures, Friday, June 19–Sunday, June 21 in the Alberni Valley. Friday the Port Alberni Friendship Center hosted a lunch and family-focused activities. Sunday, June 21 was hot and many sought out shady spots at Papermill Dam or sat under tents that had been strategically placed.
