To prevent a US takeover of Greenland, the president of the German Armed Forces Reservists Association, Patrick Sensburg, is calling for the stationing of German soldiers on the island. Europe, under Danish leadership, must "show a stronger presence."
The U.S. government's takeover fantasies with regard to Greenland make the alarm bells shrill in Europe. The Bundeswehr's Reservist Federation would like to send soldiers to the largest island in the world immediately. That could have positive effects for Europe, it says.
Several NATO states are currently preparing a surveillance mission in the Arctic. Patrick Sensburg, representative of the Bundeswehr reservists, wants to station German soldiers in the Arctic – before Donald Trump attacks the island.
