Trump tariffs could cut GDP growth by 0.5 pct points, French prime minister says

France could see a 0.5 percentage point reduction in gross domestic product growth as a result of U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff policies, Prime Minister Francois Bayrou said in an interview on Saturday.

François Bayrou sounds alarmed at the potentially devastating effects of US trade policy. According to him, the new customs duties imposed by Donald Trump could cause France to lose "more than 0.5% of its GDP".
