Trump Suspends Russia Sanctions Despite Deadly Strikes Plunging Ukraine Into Darkness (Worthy News Radio)
U.S. President Donald J. Trump has suspended sweeping new sanctions against Russia, citing American national interests, as Russian missile and drone attacks killed at least eight people in Ukraine and left more than a million without electricity.
The US president halted a comprehensive package of new sanctions, in some cases even 100% tariffs against Russia, just before they were due to take effect.
The suspension of new sanctions measures against Russia would benefit not only the United States but also other countries, a view that was expressed by US President Donald Trump, commenting on his decision to suspend the restrictions imposed by Graham's Act.
The decision was formalized by an executive order signed late on Friday, in which the White House argued reasons of “national interest” to justify the change of course.
