Trump sons' investments have won billions in Pentagon contracts since his election: ABC News
ABC News found Anduril alone has received about $1.8 billion in federal contracts since 1789 Capital took a major stake in 2025.
- On Tuesday, President Donald Trump announced a $6.6 billion funding agreement for Arsenal-2, a new shipyard at Sparrows Point, Maryland, with the Navy contributing $2.9 billion to manufacture Virginia-class submarine components.
- An ABC News analysis found companies backed by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump secured more than $6 billion in active or promised government contracts since their venture capital investments began, though the brothers deny any wrongdoing.
- Many investments flow through 1789 Capital, a venture firm where Trump Jr. is a partner; Hadrian received a $391 million investment from the firm before securing a $900 million Navy deal to build automated submarine factories.
- Congressional Oversight Democrats have urged the Pentagon's inspector general to investigate the contracting process, with lawmakers warning that refusing to scrutinize allegations could undermine the Department of Defense's independent watchdog role.
- Pentagon officials maintain that defense procurement is merit-based and outside affiliations play no role in funding decisions, while Anduril says it seeks necessary approvals to begin operations at the shipyard by 2030.
