Trump says he approves of Brazil's Flavio Bolsonaro coming to US
On Wednesday, United States President Donald Trump approved allowing Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro to enter the United States following his electoral defeat, with visas issued to the senator and his family.
Flavio's departure followed a Brazilian Supreme Court order from Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre directing him to surrender passports within 24 hours amid ongoing investigations into alleged corruption and money laundering.
Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews, "Well, I would approve," calling the election "very strange," while Flavio arrived accompanied by his wife Fernanda and their two daughters.
Brazilian President Lula criticized the departure while addressing supporters outside Alvorada on Tuesday during celebrations marking his 81st birthday, rejecting the senator's exit.
Reports indicate State Marco Rubio facilitated the departure, though no arrest warrants existed at departure; Flavio remains under investigation regarding online betting and a biopic about Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.
The unsuccessful candidate in the Brazilian presidential election, Flávio Bolsonaro, has arrived in the United States, specifically in Florida, where he met with his brother, the BBC and the Financial Times report. US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he approves of his trip to the US.
Brazilian Conservative Senator Flavio Bolsonaro and his family are on a plane to Ecuador, leaving Argentina, after leaving Brazil after his defeat at the presidential elections, Argentine authorities said on Wednesday.
