Trump Interrupted by Protesters as He Fights to Rally Texas Voters Behind Paxton in US Senate Race – WTOP News
Trump accused demonstrators of being paid to disrupt his speech as supporters booed and more protesters were removed from the packed venue.
On Wednesday, President Donald Trump held a campaign rally at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, where repeated protests forced security to remove demonstrators throughout the event.
The President focused his remarks on the Texas Senate race, describing candidate Ken Paxton as "perhaps the greatest attorney general in the United States of America" while attacking Democratic opponent James Talarico.
Trump repeatedly mocked the protesters, attacking their appearance and claiming they were paid by "enemies of our nation" to disrupt the rally as supporters chanted "USA."
Republican Gov. Greg Abbott did not attend the rally, opting to headline a hospital dedication about 330 miles away instead, despite his years of embracing Trump's agenda.
With Election Day approaching, the Texas Senate contest remains competitive as Democrats challenge Republicans who face poor approval ratings and concerns about the party's standing in the state.
