Trump Says Killing of US Troops Would Resume War 'Very Quickly', Draws Red Line for Iran
Trump said any Iranian strike that kills U.S. troops could bring rapid military retaliation as Congress moves to curb his war powers.
On Thursday, President Donald Trump stated any Iranian attack killing American service members could quickly lead to renewed military action. "If they killed US troops, I think I would do that very quickly," Trump said.
The House voted 215-208 on Wednesday to restrict further military action against Iran without Congressional approval, marking the first successful Congressional challenge to Trump since the War began three months ago.
In a Truth Social post, Trump called the vote "meaningless" and labeled Four Republican lawmakers who joined The Democrats as "GRANDSTANDERS," claiming opponents would rather see the Country "fail" than give him victory.
Dismissing reports of Iranian strength as "fake news," Trump claimed the United States eliminated Iranian leadership and destroyed 159 ships lying at the ocean's bottom during a White House briefing.
Regional tensions remain high, with casualty figures reaching at least 201 deaths in Iran since escalation began. Three US service members were killed in Iranian strikes, prompting concerns about further losses ahead.
