Trump Urges Tehran to Finalize Deal, Asks Netanyahu Not to Retaliate After Iranian Missile Attack
Trump said Iran had used up its missiles and urged both sides to return to negotiations as he planned a call with Netanyahu.
On Sunday, President Donald Trump urged Iran to resume negotiations and finalize a deal, telling Fox News reporter Trey Yingst that Tehran had expended its missile arsenal and further escalation served no purpose.
Earlier Sunday, Iran launched four waves of missiles toward Israel after Tehran vowed to retaliate for Israeli strikes on Beirut's southern suburbs.
"You fired your missiles, and that's enough," Trump said to Fox News, urging Tehran to "come back to the negotiating table and make a deal."
President Trump told Axios reporter Barak Ravid he planned to call Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to urge him not to retaliate against Iran.
Trump warned that if Bibi attacks them back, conflict "will just drag on like it has for the past 47 years," noting the Iranian strikes caused no casualties.
