After more than 20 years of remaining at Rp 3,500, Transjakarta fares will finally experience a price increase adjustment.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is striving to improve the quality of Transjakarta services by adding facilities and fleets, but this step will be accompanied by tariff adjustments due to the already excessively high subsidy burden.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the planned Transjakarta fare increase had been carefully calculated. According to Pramono, his administration has already made TransJakarta free for 15 categories.
The Jakarta Provincial Government is currently improving Transjakarta facilities and adding 500 electric buses to its fleet ahead of the fare increase from Rp3,500 to Rp5,000.
