Tran, Mikan, Pankratz named Lordo Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week

Photo credit: Ralph Villaver Powell River Kings forwards Jordan Tran, Michael Mikan and Connor Pankratz have been named the Lordco Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week, ending Oct. 11. 1st Star – Jordan Tran (F) – Powell River Kings Tran tied for the league lead in points last week with six in two games on two goals and four helpers. The 17-year-old forward piled up a goal and three assists on Friday in Powell River’s 5-2 road win over the Spruce Grove Saints. Tran had two assists in the first period, including one on the power play, before adding a goal with the man advantage and another helper in the middle frame. The next night, he had a goal and an assist in a 3-2 overtime win over the Sherwood Park Crusaders. The Aliso Viejo, Calif. product now has 13 points in nine games to sit fourth in league scoring. 2nd Star – Michael Mikan (F) – Powell River Kings Mikan matched his teammate with six points in two games last week, picking up a goal and five assists to help the Kings to a 2-0-0 start to their Alberta road trip. The Harvard University commit had three points in Friday’s 5-2 win over Spruce Grove, all of which came in the second period where he totaled a goal and two assists, including a power-play helper. On Saturday, he was in on all three of Powell River’s goals against the Sherwood Park Crusaders, finishing with a trio of assists, including the primary helper on the Kings overtime winner in a 3-2 victory. After his big week, Mikan is tied for the league lead in points with 14 in nine games. 3rd Star – Connor Pankratz (F) – Powell River Kings Pankratz had three goals and one assist for four points in a pair of games last week. The 2006-born forward scored twice and added an assist on Friday in his team’s win over Spruce Grove. Pankratz opened the scoring 3:18 into the contest, then scored the eventual game-winner in the second. He was named first star of the game. The following night, he opened the scoring again with his fourth of the year in their win over the Sherwood Park Crusaders.
