Almost 3000 emergency calls within five hours were registered by the fire brigade in the Nuremberg region due to a storm. Trees fell, cellars ran full of water – and there were several injured.
Strong storms hit parts of Middle Franconia on Tuesday. Among others, Erlangen and Nuremberg were affected. According to eyewitness Michael Galle-Bammes, the hail came suddenly and unexpectedly strong.
Thunderstorms, heavy rains and hail have moved over Franken. In the Nuremberg area, the fire brigade moved out to around a thousand missions. A video shows the intensity of the storm.
In a severe storm in the region around Nuremberg, several people were injured on Tuesday evening.
