CEO Jeff Green said the job cuts are about preparing for growth, not financial trouble, as the adtech giant revealed a $1.5bn cash pile in the 10 years since its IPO.
The Trade Desk, one of the major companies in digital advertising technologies, has decided to reduce the number of global employees by about 15 percent. The restructuring, which could affect more than 500 people, is expected to cost the company up to $51 million.
