NEW VIDEO: TPD officer shot, 3 suspects at large following early-morning incident

Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Revell confirmed a TPD officer was shot during an incident early Monday morning. TPD officers responded to what was originally reported as a residential burglary in the 2300 block of Sandpiper Street. A suspect matching the description of the 911 call was seen by officers leaving the scene. The officers chased after the suspect and told the suspect to stop. The chief said during the chase, a second person came out of the house in question and began firing. That was officer was struck and then immediately returned fire. Other officers who responded to the scene worked to take care of the officer who was shot.
