- In a separate dispute, Toys R Us Canada is challenging Club R trademark filed by Club Rendezvous Inc., though the Calgary business claims it does "not believe there is any realistic likelihood of confusion."
- Trademark agent Erin McEwen of Nelligan Law in Ottawa notes companies aggressively defend intellectual property because "you don't want somebody else infringing on your rights," as legal processes can take years to resolve.
