Toyota and Scania are partnering to commercialize hydrogen fuel cells for heavy-duty transport, supplying Toyota fuel cell systems to 40 heavy-duty vehicles. The vehicles will be equipped with Toyota's third-generation fuel cell system, which achieves an output of 300kW in a compact design. The first hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks are scheduled to begin operation in the first quarter of 2027.
