Town Council defers Bluewater affordable housing decision to clarify land donation

In 2004, resident Ray Fenton donated 161 acres of land in south Port Elgin to the Town of Saugeen Shores with the understanding it would be used for the YMCA Child Care and parkland.  At the June 15 public meeting, Fenton said a Town Council proposal to build 183 affordable rental units and a small park on the site is “shameful” and “impeaches his integrity” and the integrity of builders and real estate agents who sold lots adjacent to the site …
