Toddler in stable condition after crocodile attack at Cambridgeshire zoo
Police say the 3-year-old is no longer critical after being attacked by at least one crocodile and treated at the scene.
- On Monday, Cambridgeshire Police confirmed the three-year-old boy attacked by a crocodile at Johnsons of Old Hurst is "no longer critical" and remains "in a stable condition in hospital" at Addenbrooke Hospital.
- Police were called to the zoo on Thursday at 1:30 pm following reports that a three-year-old child "sustained serious injuries while in the enclosure" after allegedly being thrown inside.
- Tracey Johnson, wife of owner Andrew, reportedly jumped into the enclosure to save the child, who "was pulled out by staff from the zoo" and received medical treatment at the scene.
- A 30-year-old man from Norfolk was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but was later bailed after being "assessed as not being fit for interview."
- Police noted the suspect reportedly has learning difficulties and had been visiting the zoo on a trip with his carers as investigations continue.
