SMITH COUNTY – Smith County residents in the Swan area, near Lindale, voluntarily evacuated their homes because of a controlled burn that got out of control. Firefighters with Smith County Emergency Services Districts 1 and 2 responded to the fire FM-3271, near State Highway 69, after the call came in at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
