Timothée Chalamet and Hans Zimmer Release ‘Desert Chant’ From ‘Dune: Part Three’
The track opens with Timothée Chalamet humming before building into a war chant, offering the first preview of Hans Zimmer’s score.
On Tuesday, October 20, composer Hans Zimmer and actor Timothée Chalamet released 'Desert Chant,' the first single from Dune: Part Three. WaterTower Music distributed the track featuring Chalamet's vocals alongside Zimmer's score.
Inspired by Frank Herbert's novel Dune Messiah, the action takes place 17 years after the events of Part Two. The story follows Paul Atreides as emperor confronting the consequences of his rule, political conspiracies, and threats to his power.
Zimmer described his work on the film as a reconnection to his youthful imagination, noting he and director Denis Villeneuve have become "creative brothers" through their shared love of the source material. The track builds from a lullaby hum into an intense war chant.
Dune: Part Three debuts in North American theaters on December 18. The upcoming film features returning stars Zendaya and Florence Pugh alongside new cast members Robert Pattinson and Isaach de Bankolé, produced by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros.
With 'Desert Chant,' Chalamet's vocal performance becomes a prominent part of the film's musical identity. This haunting track offers fans an early taste of the sound accompanying Paul Atreides' story as he faces a reckoning in the forthcoming chapter.
