As expected, German filmmakers have won important awards at the 78th Locarno Film Festival. The Golden Leopard, the main prize, goes to Japan.
TURIN – The 78th Locarno Film Festival concluded today, and among the winners is a film by TorinoFilmLab. TorinoFilmLab is organized by the National Cinema Museum with the support of Creative Europe – MEDIA sub-programme of the European Union. As expected, German filmmakers have received withrealised films important awards.The Golden Leopard, the main prize, goes to Japan.
"Two Seasons, Two Strangers" by Sho Miyake won the best price in Locarno, his golden leopard for titles that are reproduced in the main international competition of the Swiss Festival. As Variety has noticed, the film was warmly received at the festival, charming reviews with its story of two people standing by the sea. Based on the manga "M. Ben and his igloo, a view of Yoshiharu Tsuge Sea Beach, is sold by Bitters End.
The Locarno Film Festival will present awards today, the main one being the Golden Leopard for best film. The international competition program included 18 films, including the Slovenian minority co-production Bog ne bo maaloj (God Will Not Help) by director Hana Jušić. Due to the strong representation of German cinema, it is not ruled out that a German film will not be honored.
