Tiger Shroff attack handlers relayed TV news updates to shooters: Report
On October 18, gunmen fired at actor Tiger Shroff's car in Juhu, with Mumbai Police subsequently arresting 10 people in connection with the attack, including three primary suspects apprehended in Rajasthan.
Investigators found that handlers monitoring news channels guided the attackers in real-time, sending instructions via encrypted apps as police progress was broadcast on television.
One message instructed a shooter: "Tumhare chehre aa gaye hain, nikal jao waha se." Handlers allegedly used VoIP apps Signal and Zangi, which are difficult for authorities to trace.
Police suspect that US-based henchman Anil Pandit or associates Ankit Khatak and Sameer Khatri directed the attackers. Pandit, linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility in an unverified social media post.
Frequent transport changes—from bikes to trains to cabs—helped suspects evade capture before their attempted escape from Surat bus stand. The three attackers remain in police custody until October 31.
