Tiger-Cats great Calvin Tiggle headed to Canadian Football Hall of Fame
Tiggle earned 662 career tackles and was the CFL’s outstanding player in 1999 after helping Hamilton win its last Grey Cup title.
- On Thursday, the Canadian Football Hall announced former linebacker Calvin Tiggle as an inductee for the class of 2026, joining receiver Brandon Banks, fullback Sean Millington, and defensive lineman Charleston Hughes.
- Tiggle played eight seasons in the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats, accumulating 662 career tackles in 127 regular-season games to rank 13th all-time.
- In 1999, Tiggle was named the CFL's outstanding player after registering 106 tackles with two interceptions, helping the Ticats defeat the Calgary Stampeders 32-21 in the Grey Cup.
- The Hall induction ceremony is set for Sept. 17 at Hamilton Stadium, where Tiggle will be formally enshrined alongside the other three class of 2026 members.
- Eric Noivo, executive director of the Canadian Football Hall, said Tiggle's "determination and dependability" made him feared by opponents yet respected in the locker room; remaining inductees will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
