The Czech Republic experienced its hottest day since the beginning of the year today, with the heat being felt mainly in South Moravia, most notably in Lednice, where meteorologists recorded 35.8 degrees Celsius. The threshold for a so-called supertropical day, i.e. 35 degrees, was measured by six stations measuring for at least 30 years. Šimon Kolář from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) told ČTK.

In Dukovany, the temperature reached 34.5 degrees Celsius, half a degree higher than the previous maximum for June 26, 2019, and 0.2 degrees Celsius higher than the June absolute maximum from June 22, 2017.
