Boy, 14, among three teens arrested on suspicion of Essex park murder
Police say three Chelmsford teenagers remain in custody after a 21-year-old man died in a park assault and detectives seek witnesses.
On Friday, Essex Police arrested three teenagers, aged 14, 17, and 18, on suspicion of murder after a 21-year-old man died at Central Park in Chelmsford despite paramedic efforts.
Inquiries led police to an address in Auckland Close, where all three suspects from Chelmsford remain in custody for questioning on suspicion of murder.
Det Insp Lydia George confirmed the force is "not currently seeking anyone else" in connection with the incident and there is "no ongoing risk to the public."
The Chelmsford Central Parkrun cancelled Saturday's event "on police advice" while officers maintain a visible presence in the Melbourne area of Chelmsford.
Officers continue to appeal for information from the busy public space while the victim's family receives support from specially trained officers as the investigation proceeds.
