Taipei, Sept. 8 (CNA) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) on Tuesday warned Taiwanese nationals against engaging in illicit activities overseas as new laws have taken effect in Myanmar and Thailand to curb fraud by foreign nationals.
Thailand and Myanmar have recently strengthened law enforcement against crimes committed by foreigners. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hsiao Kuang-wei stated on the 8th that Myanmar implemented the Anti-Cyber Fraud Law in July, which targets crimes such as online fraud and torture in industrial parks, with a maximum penalty of death. He urged Thai citizens not to break the law.
