Popular Wine Sold at Costco Recalled over Shatter Risk, Nearly 1 Million Bottles Pulled

- On Thursday, F&F Fine Wines International, Inc., doing business as Ethica Wines, announced a recall of 941,400 bottles of Kirkland Signature Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG sold at Costco Wholesale Corporation.
- Costco warehouses in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin sold the bottles from April 25 through August 26, 2025, for about $8.
- CPSC and the importer report ten reports of bottles breaking or shattering, including one laceration injury, involving UPC 196633883742 and Costco item number 1879870.
- Consumers should immediately stop using the bottles and discard them in household trash, then contact Ethica Wines at customercare@ethicawines.com or 786-810-7132 for refund instructions with a Costco member letter.
- The company says this action follows a recall issued a couple of months ago and warned that unopened bottles may shatter even when not handled, F&F Fine Wines International said.
