Prison guard arrested at the extreme right demonstration was suspended
The prison guard who was arrested along with Mário Machado and Rui Fonseca e Castro was sentenced in 2022 to six months in prison for possession of a prohibited weapon and will be suspended from office for 90 days.

João Vaz is a prison guard and a member of the Ergue-te. In 2022, he was sentenced to six months in prison for illegal weapons in the process of Hammerskins, a racist group and especially violent. He was accused of arresting a member of the Communist Party, but he was dismissed.
