Which MLB Teams Have Never Won a World Series? The 5 Franchises
Main Story: Five MLB franchises have never won the World Series: the Brewers, Rays, Rockies, Padres and Mariners. That list is set to shrink, as Milwaukee and Tampa Bay are facing off in the 2026 championship, with the Brewers leading 3-1. The Rockies have reached the Fall Classic once, the Brewers and Rays twice before this year, and the Padres twice; Seattle has never made it.
It will be the fourth time in the last 10 seasons that a franchise will win its first ring, joining the Rangers of 2023, the Nationals of 2019 and the Astros of 2017. The Brewers arrived in 1982 and lost to the Cardinals; while Tampa Bay has lost on two occasions, in 1998 to the Filis and in 2020 to the Dodgers.
