The women’s Tour de France is coming through Kirklees in July 2027 and that could mean worn-out or pothole-ridden roads on the route being repaired and resurfaced ahead of schedule. When the Tour de France Grand Depart came to Huddersfield and Holmfirth in 2014, the district was awash with roadworks in the run-up to the event as Kirklees Council ensured smooth passage for the peloton.
