The US military rescued the pair after two suspected “narco terrorists” were killed in the strike at the submersible vessel on Thursday, in what was at least the sixth such strike in the Caribbean by the US forces since September.

"At least 25,000 Americans would have died if I had allowed this submarin to reach the country," the U.S. president says.

A video posted by the Pentagon on X showed black-and-white footage of the strike. In the clip, the semi-submersible vessel could be seen gliding through the waves with its front portion submerged just below the surface before a series of explosions struck, one detonating over the vessel's rear.
