A recent study by two university researchers would conclude that the project to expand the Port of Montreal to Contrecoeur could be "underused, unprofitable and a financial burden for Canadian taxpayers." The study, commissioned by the Société pour la nature et les parcs (SNAP Québec), was conducted by Professor Eric Pineault of the UQAM Institute of Environmental Sciences and Henri Chevalier, PhD student at the University of Waterloo.
