- Following a prison breakout in Shaddadeh, Syrian government forces took control of camps from the Syrian Democratic Forces amid a ceasefire and SDF withdrawal.
- The first transfer involved 150 detainees from Hassakeh province, the Iraqi army confirmed their arrival and said they include first-tier leaders and foreign nationals, including around 240 Tunisians.
- On Thursday, Iraq announced legal proceedings for IS detainees, with Admiral Brad Cooper stating, `Facilitating the orderly and secure transfer is critical to preventing a threat.`
- The al-Hol camp still hosts some 24,000 people, mostly women and children, and Tom Barrack, U.S. envoy to Syria, said the Syrian Democratic Forces’ role `has largely expired` as the United States facilitates security transitions.
