Best and Worst UK Energy Suppliers Named in Annual Rankings
Which? surveyed nearly 12,000 UK energy customers in 2023, ranking E highest with 79% satisfaction and Scottish Power lowest at 56%, exposing service and complaint handling gaps.

- Octopus Energy finished second with 74%, followed by 100Green at 72% and Sainsbury's Energy at 71%, while Scottish Power scored lowest at 56% with the weakest complaints handling.
- Complaints have fallen over 20% each year for the past two years, Uswitch and UKCSI acknowledged, while EDF, Centrica, and Scottish Power cited ongoing improvements and the Citizens Advice scorecard.
- Greg Jackson noted Octopus Energy’s long-standing Which? endorsement, saying it was first recommended nine years ago; Which? energy editor Emily Seymour warned firms falling short risk losing customers.
