Scientists from the Geological Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic have described a new species of turtle that once inhabited the wetlands near the extinct village of Ahníkov in the Chomutov region. It was named Manouria morla, inspired by the turtle from The Neverending Story. The species represents the oldest known representative of its genus.
