The Trade Desk Unlocks Activation of Convenience Store Retail Data for Digital Advertising in Japan
The integration gives advertisers access to purchase data from about 28 million 7-Eleven App members for more precise omnichannel targeting.
On Tuesday, The Trade Desk announced integration of retail purchase data from SEVEN-ELEVEN JAPAN into its platform, enabling advertisers to programmatically activate data from approximately 28 million Eleven App members.
SEJ operates Japan's largest convenience store network with around 22,000 stores and approximately 20 million daily visitors, addressing historical fragmentation where retail data access has been limited and operationally complex.
The Trade Desk's AI-driven platform transforms purchase signals into structured audience intelligence, allowing advertisers to use up to one year of ID-POS data for precise targeting across digital channels including CTV.
Campaigns can now be planned and optimized with greater efficiency, shifting Japan from fragmented, manual data usage to an always-on, infrastructure-driven approach enabling continuous audience engagement.
"Japan's retail media ecosystem is entering a new phase," said Kei Majima, General Manager for Japan at The Trade Desk, as the initiative demonstrates a practical model for secure, scalable retail data activation.
