The European Court of Justice has dismissed the appeals by Air France-KLM, British Airways and almost all other airlines involved in the air cargo cartel proceedings, thereby making penalties totalling EUR 776 million final.
The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) rejected on Thursday the appeals filed by twelve airlines sanctioned with around € 790 million in total for participating in a freight cartel between 1999 and 2006, but slightly reduced the amount of the fine imposed on SAS Cargo Group.
