Astronomers have simulated our Milky Way galaxy and estimated that it contains about 170 million stellar-mass black holes. The study also predicts the distribution of black holes, their sizes, and even the nature of the explosions that formed them, providing guidance for future observations that will test the simulations, ScienceAlert reports.
