Due to the persistent heat and the extraordinary water consumption, water shortages have become increasingly serious in several settlements in Zala. The situation has escalated to the point that several pools of the Kehidakustány thermal bath have had to be shut down, while in some settlements drinking water is being provided by tanker trucks. The National Defence Forces are also getting involved in filling the Nagygörbő reservoir.

Tank trucks are being used to alleviate the severe water shortage in Zala, after several reservoirs were emptied and maintaining adequate water pressure is becoming increasingly difficult in the region. Restrictions have been in place in the affected settlements for days, while service providers are trying to stabilize the supply with all available means.
