The provincial upper house voted for an initiative not to hold the primary elections this year. The date of the elections was not yet defined and could coincide with the national vote.
The project was voted by a majority, although it had the opposition of the PJ interblock. In this way, it landed the primaries both for this year and for the next.
The Senate passed the bill suspending the primary, open, simultaneous and mandatory elections (PASO) in Mendoza for 2025 and 2026. The ruling party won the majority this Tuesday in the Legislature. Although at first the suspension was to govern for 2025, during the session it decided to incorporate also those of 2026.
