Air Force Commander Brigadier General Riivo Valge said that last night, one drone briefly headed from Russia towards Narva, and a second drone crossed our border in southeast Estonia some time later, which is why a threat alert was issued.
This is far from the first time that drones have entered Estonian airspace.
On the night of Tuesday, the National Armed Forces (NBS) in Ludza and Aluksne counties issued and later canceled warnings about a possible airspace hazard that caused NATO patrol mission fighters to take off in the air.
The drones that posed a threat to Latvian airspace on Tuesday morning also flew into Estonian territory, where fighters from the NATO Baltic Airspace Patrol Mission continued to search for them, Estonian national broadcaster ERR reported.
