Nationwide rail strike in Spain called off at the last minute

The seven-day rail strike which was due to begin on Monday March 17th has been called off at the last minute after unions representing Renfe and Adif workers reached an agreement with Spain's Transport Ministry.

The mobilizations were to suppose, in its first five days, the cancellation of almost 1,400 trains of Renfe (1,383 trains) of the 4,260 programmed in that period, 428 of high speed and long distance and 955 of medium distance, besides 740 of goods

Most of the unions have called off at the last hour of this Sunday, just four hours before its beginning, the planned strike in Renfe and Adif that was to begin in the early morning of this Monday throughout Spain.
