A forest fire is raging in the municipality of Ores in northern Spain. A specialized unit of the armed forces is assisting with the extinguishing operation. Authorities have declared a state of emergency in Aragon, and meteorologists are warning of an upcoming heatwave.
The largest wildfire of the season so far in Spain continues to rage virtually unchecked approximately 65 kilometers north of Zaragoza. More than 15,400 hectares have already burned. According to media reports, the fire has a perimeter of 80 kilometers and six villages have been evacuated. However, there are more hamlets or villages on the list of places that may need to be evacuated.
