Norwegian trout farmer considers selling site amid local opposition

Firda Sjofarmer bought a plot of land in Hyllestad village, Vestland to build a farming facility in the harbor, but now considers selling the site following sustained opposition from local residents

On Monday, May 19, Minister of Transport Jon-Ivar Nygård broke ground for the E134 Røldal - Seljestad section. “This is the first stage of a new and safer road between Seljestad and Røldal – a project that will have great significance for the entire region, and for the east/west connection in the country,” said Nygård during the ceremony.

Landslide protection in Drivdalen is starting up, but the Norwegian Public Roads Administration has few plans to take major action on the accident-prone E6 between Dombås-Oppdal.

The sections E16 Hylland-Slæen in Vestland, rv. 94 Saragammen-Rypefjord in Finnmark and E39 Smiene-Harestad in Rogaland are the Norwegian Public Roads Administration's highest priority projects.
