A group of MPs proposes to allow the military itself to train drivers of military vehicles. The amendments would provide for the possibility for servicemen holding a Category B driver's license, after they have been drafted and issued a document confirming it, to be allowed to drive military vehicles classified in categories other than B, the Conservative Group reported.

A significant part of the army reserve consists of soldiers who have performed permanent compulsory initial military service to the reserve. Currently, soldiers are not trained to acquire the specialty of drivers of military vehicles and only a small percentage of those called to the service have the right to drive vehicles of the required category.
